James L. Moultrie

James L. Moultrie III, Esq. is Of Counsel to The Long Law Group, and specializes in entertainment, corporate, international transactions, common interest development, and intellectual property law. James possesses comprehensive experience advising, counseling, and working with diverse companies, individuals, and talent on matters including negotiations, settlements, commercial contracts, business planning, entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, securities, escrow, corporate maintenance, risk management, tax issues, venture capital financing, copyright and trademarks, licensing, and the drafting and review of a wide range of transactional agreements for some of the world’s largest organizations.

James received his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, where he graduated from its selective Corporate Law Concentration Program. Moreover, he gained valuable experience in the area of intellectual property protection while performing research and producing deliverables involving music, television, movies, and other media at the International Intellectual Property Institute in London, England and Brussels, Belgium.

James has continuously practiced as an attorney in law firms focused on sophisticated entertainment, business, and intellectual property issues. He has handled complex legal and advisement matters for both emerging growth companies, as well as multi-national corporations. In addition, James has extensive connections and experience in the Los Angeles
entertainment industry, and has worked with numerous production companies, directors, actors, musicians, comedians, and other entertainers on diversified media and content creation transactions.

James is admitted to practice law in the State of California, including its Central and Eastern U.S. Federal District Courts, and the District of Columbia, including its own U.S. Federal District Court. James also regularly speaks on panels, has worked on successful political campaigns, and is actively involved in a number of professional organizations such as the Commonwealth Club of California, Business Network International, the John M. Langston Bar Association, and the California Minority Counsel Program. He has been named a Southern California Top Lawyer by Los Angeles Magazine and a Super Lawyers Rising Star.
